Welcome to the twelfth annual HighTide Festival of live performance in Suffolk. This year you will find our new Festival Hub located in Aldeburgh, centred in the Garage Gallery and the East Coast Restaurant. Here you can buy and collect tickets, see our exhibition on set design, enjoy our “on the go” menu and a special Festival Fishers gin cocktail, or just relax in amongst the fabulous bohemian furniture from Debenham Antiques.

HighTide has been called the theatre world’s Sundance Film Festival, and this year you will discover a wealth of innovative and challenging work including five fantastic new productions direct from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Our headline production is not only by a young local writer, Tallulah Brown, but her touching coming of age play Songlines is set just up the coast in Reydon. Songlines features live music performed by the award-winning band, TRILLS, and music is a strong feature across this year’s programme.

Our opening night features the acclaimed East Anglian poet and theatre maker Luke Wright, and the closing event on Sunday is Wonderful Beast’s latest project, their play The Last Woodwose, the sequel to Return of the Wildman, and featuring the superb Diana Quick.

In addition to the new Festival Hub, our performances take place across the town in the Jubilee Hall, Pumphouse, Aldeburgh Cinema, Aldeburgh Beach Lookout and for the first time this year we’re staging late night events in Ye Old Cross Keys. We’re thrilled to also be partnering with The Aldeburgh Bookshop on our literary In Conversations with novelists Kate Mosse and Patrick Gale, sponsored by Lansons in celebration of our award-winning ten year partnership.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our Festival Board who promote our Festival year round, all our volunteers, our business sponsors, Friends of the Festival, arts partners and Archant, our media partner.

Take a look at this links on the left to find out more about the festival and below you’ll see a day by day guide.
